Futuristic in design and function presents itself »Eddy«, perhaps the most unusual wine decanter of the brand Zieher. Its name has »Eddy« from the English colloquial term für kleine Wirbelstürme (Eddy, English: vortex, whirlpool) . This decanter also works on the principle of swirling: On its inner wall are several glass cones. When the filled carafe is swirled, small eddies form in the wine at these cones, drawing oxygen into the wine. In this very innovative way, the wine is optimally and incredibly quickly aerated. Within just a few seconds, the wine is supplied with oxygen, which is similar to a multi-hour oxidation process. This ensures für a rapid development and complex development of the wine and für spontaneous, new moments of pleasure.

»Eddy« is made of high-quality, robust borosilicate glass. This type of glass is characterized by high transparency, hardness and an extremely smooth surface, which facilitates cleaning of the decanter.

Silvio Nitzsche, top sommelier and owner of the WEIN/KULTUR/BAR Dresden has designed »Eddy«. In collaboration with Zieher, he also came up with the idea and design of the »Vision« wine glass collection.
