Especially young red wines need contact with air oxygen to develop their optimal bouquet. Therefore, it is common to open these wines a few hours before consumption and let them stand in a decanter. After pouring a standard 0.75 l wine bottle, the decanter is filled just to the halfway point. Here, the contact area between the wine and air oxygen is maximized, providing the best conditions for the development of the bouquet.
No Drop Effect almost completely prevents the formation of drops on the glass rim when pouring, and consequently also the dripping of red wine down the outer wall of the decanter. Both the vessel and the tablecloth are thus optimally protected from stains.
