Zwiesel Glas

Zwiesel Glas | Crystal glass with that special touch

The history of Zwiesel Glas dates back to 1872. That year marked the beginning of glassblowing in the Bavarian Forest, where handmade collections of glass art are crafted to the highest standards. The Zwiesel Glas company – formerly known as Zwiesel Kristallglas – includes its namesake brand, as well as Schott Zwiesel and Jenaer Glas. Zwiesel Glas creates drinkware series that perfectly blend form and function, where traditional craftsmanship meets innovative technologies. Mouth-blown collections are a core competency of the glass brand. This production method has a long-standing tradition, demanding immense skill, a deep understanding of the material, and years of experience from the glassmakers.

Zwiesel Glas’s innovative capabilities shine through in its research and development. The unique Tritan® crystal glass, which is lead- and barium-free, stands out for its exceptional brilliance, dishwasher resistance, and durability. Besides practicality and design, sound is also a mark of quality in fine glassware. The distinctive tone produced when Zwiesel glasses clink together is unmistakable and has become a trademark of these crystal glasses »with a special note«.

Zwiesel Glas's »handmade« glasses are appreciated by connoisseurs worldwide. The brand has built a strong reputation, particularly with its functional yet breathtakingly beautiful wine glasses. These include series like »The Moment«, »Enoteca«, »Simplify« and, of course, »Air Sense«, a collection featuring an integrated decanting sphere. Complementing all red and white wine glasses are decanters that perfectly combine aesthetics, functionality, and enjoyment. Renowned designers also collaborate with the company: the multi-award-winning product designer Sebastian Herkner created the »Journey« collection for Zwiesel Glas. In close partnership with bar legend Charles Schumann, Zwiesel developed the »Bar Premium« and »Marlène« bar glass series—a skillful homage to authentic, classic bar culture.
