ASA SELECTION »Poké«
The stoneware collection »Poké« by the lifestyle brand ASA SELECTION represents true craftsmanship. The items in the series are handmade in Portugal. Small irregularities and differences between the products are intentional and are evidence of artisanal production. The visible and tangible grooves on the bowls and plates are created through traditional manufacturing: They are »thrown« on the potter's wheel by ceramic artists with great skill and passion. This authentic method of production fits the theme of the collection: The bowls and dishes from ASA SELECTION »Poké« are a kind of homage to the creative food trend of the same name »Poke Bowl«.
Originally, Poke comes from Hawaii: The fish salad, now known worldwide, has the status of a national dish in Hawaii. The name is also of Hawaiian origin: Poke means »to cut into pieces«. Internationally, countless recipe variations now circulate under the name »Poke Bowl«. Whether Poke Bowl, Buddha Bowl, or One Pot – these trendy dishes have one thing in common: They are usually served in a bowl or dish. And for this, the attractive stoneware items from ASA SELECTION »Poké« are perfect. With the all-rounder plate and bowls in four different sizes, Poke Bowls and many other recipes can be authentically arranged and served.
The effect glazes used in production react slightly differently with each firing, resulting in ceramics where no two pieces are alike. Each item is unique. The ASA Poké tableware is available in the – combinable – decorative colors Cauliflower, Dragonfruit, Litchi, Edamame, Tamari, Curacao, Plum, Ocean, Quinoa, and Mangosteen.
