Riedel Sommeliers Black Series Collector's Edition

The world-famous Sommeliers glass series presents itself in a new outfit. In 2013, for the 40th anniversary, Riedel's glassmakers and designers came up with something very special – the Black Series. These are opaque black wine glasses made of crystal glass in the original sommelier shape.

The stem contains a fine red thread, encased again in crystal glass. The black and non-transparent coloring of the glass is achieved by adding cobalt and manganese. This is a great challenge for the glassmaker, as the addition of these substances causes the glass to cool and harden faster.

These elegant and beautifully shaped pieces are, of course, made for the enjoyment of your wine, but they also lend an unmistakable shine to any wine collection as a decorative piece.
