KPM »LAB Weiß«

Chief designer Thomas Wenzel was inspired by the original laboratory porcelain of KPM Berlin from the 1920s when designing the KPM »LAB« line. The collection name »LAB« comes from the English abbreviation for »laboratory«. Characteristic of the KPM »LAB« series is the minimalist-technical design of the porcelain items. The multifunctional bowls, cups, and plates are perfect for the modern, experimental kitchen. A real eye-catcher is the so-called tripod stand: equipped with porcelain bowls of different sizes, this presentation and serving item becomes the centerpiece - in a stylish kitchen environment as well as on the set table. Other prominent pieces like the vinegar and oil set, storage jars with real wood lids, and the spice rack reminiscent of a test tube stand, complete the laboratory porcelain impression of KPM »LAB Weiß«.

Typical for the »LAB« series are the base stamp and the »BERLIN« lettering in chrome green color. This distinctive green was already used at the time to mark the archetype. Then as now, the green signets stand for porcelain tradition and table culture from the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin. At the same time, the aesthetic and functional porcelain series KPM »LAB Weiß« meets the highest quality and design standards of a contemporary lifestyle.

Thomas Wenzel, the designer of the KPM »LAB« collection, heads the artistic development department at KPM Berlin. A focus of his work is to combine innovative decoration and manufacturing technologies with traditional values such as tradition and craftsmanship. In addition to the current »LAB« series, the already iconic KPM Kurland To-go cup is also among Wenzel's designs.
