Design and high tech traditionally from a single source
The Jenaer Glas brand stands for chemically and thermally resistant borosilicate glass. Developed as early as 1887 by Otto Schott in Jena, Thuringia, the fireproof utility glass soon found widespread use throughout Germany. Especially since the 1920s, Jena Glas has stood for elegant, shapely crockery and household helpers. Since then, the Schott company, which has since been founded, has been cooperating with well-known Bauhaus artists such as Gerhard Marcks, Heinrich Loffelhardt, and Bruno Mauder. Among the best-known and most sought-after products from Jena Glas are the tea sets by Bauhaus artist Wilhelm Wagenfeld, which are now being reproduced due to the high international demand. Wagenfeld revolutionized the Jenaer Glas teapot, combining form and function in a uniquely aesthetic way. And with the Jenaer Glas teapot in the Wagenfeld design, he created a modern classic that is still valued today for its elegance, simplicity, and lightness.
