Thomas Cucina

Thomas »Cucina«

In line with the philosophy of »good form for every day«, the collection »Cucina« by the brand Thomas (formerly Arzberg) was created. Hans-Wilhelm Seitz designed this timeless form in 2001. Seitz is a trained ceramic modeler and form designer. His porcelain shows that the designs were skillfully hand-modeled and not constructed with a 3-D computer program. This also applies to Thomas »Cucina«. Hans-Wilhelm Seitz himself says about his work: »A well-designed form should impress with its self-evidence, be understood by everyone in its clarity and simplicity, and be familiar like a good friend (quote).«

Notable in Thomas »Cucina« is the straight line of the cups. The consistently conical shape is found in all coffee cups – for espresso, coffee & co., café au lait – and in the mug. The thick-walled Cucina cups are inspired by Italian models. This keeps the cup contents hot for a long time, and besides this practical advantage, the haptics and optics of Thomas »Cucina« skillfully interpret Italian coffee culture. The bowls and dishes are pleasantly round as a contrast, as this form follows function: Whether you dress a salad with salad cutlery or spoon muesli from a small bowl – the semi-circular design combines aesthetics and user-friendliness here.

Important information for our customers:
Since 2013, the traditional brand Arzberg has been part of Rosenthal GmbH. As Rosenthal simplifies its brand structure, the Arzberg forms Cucina and Tric will be led under the Thomas brand in the future, while the form 1382 and Joyn will be integrated into the Rosenthal label.
Through this integration, Rosenthal aims to give the four successful Arzberg forms even more internationality and visibility. The high quality and outstanding design of the collections will not change. The products will only receive a new base stamp.
