Seltmann Weiden Nori Home

Seltmann Weiden Nori »Home«

The collection name »Nori« is derived from the Japanese term »Nori« which refers to edible seaweed. These types of algae are mostly used in the form of dried, papery leaves for various recipes. Traditionally, nori sheets are used to make sushi rolls. The structure of these nori sheets served as inspiration for the extraordinary relief of the »Nori« porcelain.

The bas-relief in Seltmann Weiden Nori »Home« takes this leaf structure and depicts it as an abstract, ornamental pattern in porcelain. The decorative effect typical of »Nori« results solely from the recesses on the surface. This creates a subtle play of light and shadow that gives Nori »Home« an unusual, almost mysterious look. In the Nori Home »Weiß« collection, this tension is further intensified by the alternation of full relief and partial relief.: items such as breakfast plates and soup plates are completely in relief, including on the dining surface. In contrast, only the edge of the pasta plate, for example, has a relief. The dinner plate is available in two versions: one with a full relief and one in which the relief only decorates the edge.

Seltmann Weiden Nori »Home« is available in two colors: as a complete range in a puristic white, and as a pure plate series Nori Home »Arktisblau Light« in a light, chalky blue-grey with a touch of green. With this blue-green short series, you can add colorful accents to the table set in white. Seltmann Weiden Nori »Home« is a very unusual porcelain for individualists who like to express their personal style and attach great importance to sophisticated, contemporary table culture.
