Montrachet is the origin of the Burgundy which yields the finest and most expensive white wines of the world.
Micro-climate, the properties of the soil and the location of this vineyards together with the grape Chardonnay and its classical growing method were the base of the centuries-lasting fame of these big wines. It's their monumental, complex, dense wines together with the high part of alcohol and moderate acids.
The big, domed glass design with its wide opening directs the drink predominantly onto the sour tasting edge of the tongue and therefore puts the emphasis on the acid of the wine, which therefore wins in race and expression.
The voluptuous fruit of the lately harvested wines and the sweet roasty aromas from the wood in which the wine is matured come together in harmony. The big volume of the glass gives the full bouquet the space to show its variety and therefore to appear dense but not over-concentrated and single-dimensioned.
